Welcome to Clan MacNicol

Welcome to the Clan MacNicol website!

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am very sorry to inform you that my uncle, Harman Nicholson - a founding Director of the Clan MacNicol - passed away on Friday, 24 April 2009, in Atlanta at age 88.

He'd been in poor health during the last few months, but his death was unexpected and came as a shock to all his family.

Harman was one of the prime movers and supporters of the renaissance of our Clan under the leadership of our late Chief, Iain Nicolson.  His quiet, unfailing generosity made many significant projects possible.  In particular, the Clan history will stand as a tangible memorial to his work as Editor and to his philanthropic funding of its entire production.

Those of you who had the good fortune of knowing him personally will recall his cheerfulness, wit, intelligence and vast erudition.

He was a good soul and we shall miss him terribly.

Best regards to each of you,

Jeremy
